In the past two weeks, I spoke with two people newly diagnosed with bipolar disorder. They had so many questions, fears and confusion. I understand their concerns and wanted to help them. My main suggestion was to begin to learn and read about the condition they are experiencing.
I mentioned several books that are filled with knowledge, answers and clear explanations to their many questions. I encouraged them to speak with their doctor and said that the best success comes from being an active participant in learning about change.
I love to write and share my lessons. It is often smart to buy a book to begin to learn about bipolar disorder. You also can easily read a chapter or a topic that is pertinent to what you are thinking about.
There are many great books about mental illness. My first book on the subject teaches a great overview of bipolar disorder with simple explanations and tools. You can find the book at: http://amzn.com/1401939511
